Migrate logins into your password manager

1. Confirm you can unlock the destination vault and have its recovery information. Keep your old vault available during the migration.
2. Read the destination’s import instructions for your current manager. Export only on a device you control; avoid shared or cloud-synchronised folders.
3. Import the export once. Check several important logins and compare the item count, allowing for unsupported item types and duplicates.
4. Check attachments, passkeys and shared items separately; these may need another transfer method. Remove temporary unencrypted export files and unintended copies after verification.

Check the result

Test a real login from the new vault and confirm your backup works. Retire the old vault only after checking important items.

Limits

Importing again can create duplicates. Deleting an export does not guarantee forensic erasure, particularly on SSDs or cloud backups.
